Sorry that PG took all the criticism to heart.

If I can offer some positive comments, I am always in agreement (more or less) with PG's keen observation on the production and execution of scenes. I respect his analysis of visual construction of scenes.

And I fear him. PG, it is better to be feared than liked.

Dude, I love the criticism. It's what makes the show fun. My job is to stir the pot. If people want "ooh, I love everything about the show and Mr. Martin's works" then they should go listen to something else. If I see something that could have been done better, I'm going to say so and say why I think so. And then Christiana will tell me why I'm wrong, and we can move on. 😉

This is the best fantasy series that's ever been on television, and it's only going to get better.

As for getting things wrong about the book? I'm always going to do that. I'm a stupid face. 😉

Hah, I lured you out onto the Internet, where you can't twist my chicken-sized neck off with your meaty Hodor-sized hands!

But now I am at a loss at what to do. Curse you PG!

Anyway, I am glad that you're willing to stir up trouble.

Okay, you recently complained about the missing battle in episode nine. That's a fair criticism, but I was glad to trade a lot of horseplay for the excellent conversational scenes that occurred.

Rome (the series) was similar. We knew Verunas and Pullo had been in some serious battles, because there would be tons of dead guys around, and Pullo would say to Titus "dude, that was a serious battle." and Verunas would say "I hate your stupid face, but that was cool how you killed all those Goths, Vandals, and Scythians."

That conversation was better than a lot of the same 5 hairy horned-helmed guys running around.

Again, I don't mind the lack of battles. I do understand the production costs of staging such an event (wait, they only had twenty or so soldiers on each side, it wouldn't have cost that much).

What I do mind is that the segment of the book where Tyrion has his shining, defining moment of survival, leadership, understanding the true horror of war, etc. was reduced to him being knocked out, Wile E. Coyote style, by an ACME hammer. 🙂
